Hi Everybody! The advantage of a cruise, among others, is that the hotel travels by night and every morning you get a new spot to visit... ;)
St. Kitts and Nevis is a wonderful island to travel around!! Enjoy and have a great week ahead!

Great photos, Gil, I especially like the shots of the sea and St.Eustatius. Those are great shots.
The island doesn't look very overcrowded, that's a nice change!

Un petit train utilitaire transformé en train touristique, si je comprends bien. Une manière de voir le paysage à un rythme et d'un point de vue différent. Puis de retour à l'hôtel après une bonne douche se gorger de fruits exotiques... Le bonheur !

Lovely composition of palms. There is a photo of what looks to be an old chimney and, apart from it, some kind of oven maybe. Do you know what they are far? Thanks for the tour. Happy cruising.

This was so refreshing. I could feel the warm wind and breath in the salty air.
I would have loved to see what kind of black sand this was on the beach.
Such a nice life to be able to live there.
:)

Another place which obviously has been disputed by the Spanish the French, the English… during centuries! Easy to understand when one sees your photos!

Train ride, yeayyy!!!! Mansions look incredible. What's missing are wild animals roaming around bcos it does look a bit like somewhere in Africa. I think I watch too much tv :// thanx for visiting my half hearted entry blog. Haven't got much time updating it. You have a good weekend.

I love the way the colors complement with each other, the way the blues work well with the greens. And those art deco style buildings are such visual delights.

I see you are on a cruise again, Gil! The Virgin Islands are all beautiful --enjoy your visits to each one. St. Kitts and Nevis look beautiful --so green and lush.

Wonderful scenery, Gil.

I've been away from blog life for quite a while, been doing quite bad, but hopefully I'm now back.

Tout au contraire, tes posts sont si remarquables que j'en reste la plupart du temps bouche bée ( et je ne les commente pas très souvent, ce qui est un tort).
Bon week end !

Wow! Looks like you have serious business at home but enjoy your parents as you will miss them once they are gone.
Havent' heard from you in a while and wondered what happened. Hope your wife is better with her elbow. I fell and broke my wrist so I know the drill and its not very pleasant lol Don't recommend it to any one lol
The photos, as usual, are great.
Glad you're back :)

Hi Everybody! It has been a long absence, but things have been a bit hard: father 95, mother almost 91 doing radiotherapy, wife broke right elbow and I’m consuming some much needed holidays to take care of all this...
Anyhow, thanks for your support and for your comments that keep this blog alive!!

Ola,
My favourites are the views of St. Eustatius...

Star,
Indeed!!

G@tto,
One week? Well, in good company, ok... ;)

Paul,
They’re my favourites also!! St Eustatius makes a fabulous photo spot!!

Joyce,
Me too...

Magic,
My pleasure!!

Alice,
Relax is the appropriate word for the Caribbean...

It’s your eyes, not my camera...

Part Three,

Lucie,
En plus, l’hôtel se promène pendant la nuit et le lendemain on est déjà à une autre destination… ;)

Joseph,
Thanks! Great that you liked it…

Ram,
One and a half years ago…

Ted,
It seems those were the chimneys of the sugar cane factories…

Lady,
Volcanic origin of the black sand…

Juka,
Fully agreed!!

Peter,
You’re absolutely right!! Amazingly the Portuguese wee a bit out of those disputes… With Brazil and Angola they had enough to care…

I never visited, "BLACK SAND BEACHES", so wonderful images, I am lost.

Seema,
There are many black sand beaches around the World! Maybe you should try Porto Pim Bay in the Island of Faial, Azores, Portugal...

I lived in St. Kitts when I was serving in the Peace Corps. Sometimes I'll get nostalgic and look up pictures of St. Kitts. Imagine my surprise when I come across your blog and see the house I lived in!

It's the top center photo in the "St. Paul & Bellevue" photos. The house is owned by Mr. Edwards and I lived in the lower apartment in the ocean side. It was arguably the best house for any volunteer serving in the Caribbean.

Thanks for the memories!

Hi Will!
Amazing...
