Hi Everybody! Saint Florent is a lovely place in Corsica. And this time there is a bonus: I Campagnoli sing Corsican songs! Hope you enjoy and have a great week!
Sorry for the rush, but time is at a premium nowadays... And no holidays... ;)
what an amazing place!
I shall dream of it...

Those houses at the top photos seem to rise from the water, amazingly beautiful.
It's beautiful as usual Gil...I am traveling in my mind as usual via your blog :0
Beautiful place again! The church is awesome and I love the song:)
Greetings
Joo
All the photos are fantastic. The whole town seems to be built above the sea. Must be nice to have a house with a sea view.
Its all amazing. I was wondering as to how those houses standing in sea water are protected from erosion.
Lovely place - the pictures invite us to visit!
Gorgeous place Trotter!
Regards!
what a beautiful lovely and serene place..read about this place in lonely planet....now gotto go here after seeing ur pics!!
Fantastic photos!
Really awesome. Loved the orange horizon in the last pic. And the majestic clouds in the first:)

Great post. The first picture says it all.
Beautiful painting by nature. You've captured the sunset well :)
stunning pics as always..ive been so swarmed with work that I have neither travelled nor blogged nor visited blogs..so am travelling vicariously thro your posts
Very nice photo. Large quantity. Your entire blog is great. Very much like me. Thank you for the opportunity to look at. Peter.
C'est quand-même beau, la Corse, hein ?!
holiday???? what is that??? haven't had one this summer! :)
"the sea was agitated"....I love that sentiment Gil and I particularly love the cloud filled sky of Lavoja Beach.
beautiful trotter
what a lovely place!
I broke my wrist so i am not doing much blogging right now lol
It looks really beautiful,Gil.
I especially like the opening shots of the rough sea sending waves right up to the buildings' foundations.
Great shots of a beautiful island!
what a delightful place!
thank you for the virtual tour!
Wow, the houses seem to rise just at the foot of the sea. It's beautiful. I also like the Genoese Citadel. And the sunset...
Comme toujours, un très beau reportage !
Very scenic photos.

Beautiful shots of the place. Sea shore looks great.
I would like to visit here, too, after looking at your photos. I like the music you posted.
Hello Gil! Another very enjoyable post, the collages are so panoramic, nice photos, beautiful the cathedral and the paintings at the citadel!
Happy Sunday :-)
Ahhh...I so need a vacation! Awesome shots...love the pics of the sunset...just so beautiful! :)
Thank you for your comments and this new place, where I would like to visit - of course because of your wonderful presentation :)
I will get still visitors tomorrow and my photos are taken from our family. But when coming days will shorten and viitors have gone, I start again publish my travel photos :)
You can keep Petra for your dreams of those years, when you have time and time, I mean your retiring years ;)
Nice new week to you and your wife! Is your daughter still in Germany?
Is there an infinite supply of such glorious coastal towns, and have you been to them all? I hope the first shots were taken at high tide. It all looks irresistible.
Very beautiful pictures with amazing beauty. I feel like visiting Corsica after seeing all the marvellous pictures. Excellent post.
I see the weather this year is stormy all over the Europe... Great pictures of the port with the amazing sky! Have a good week
I'm adding St Florent to my list of places I would love to visit one day! It looks frozen in time and very romantic. I liked listening to I Campagnoli sing Corsican songs as I looked at the photos a few times, Gil. Wonderful!
beautiful old buildings and super views. I wouldn't like to be there when the sea level rises.
I have no holidays either. :) Actually, haven't been on holidays for 2 years. But that's ok. hehe will plan where to go for next year.
:D Cheer up! :D Stay happy.
BTW, great photos as always! Would love to go there in the future.
Love the way the sea's hitting on the fort...
Smokey Eyes with Lakme
Dhenupurishwarar Temple
Alls beautiful in Corsica!!
The Citadel is so unusual.
The cathedral is very nice too.
I do like the song these gentleman sing. Are they singing in Espanol??
xox
Constance
The big photo of Saint Florent is really beautiful.
Hi Folks! Hope you’re enjoying your holidays, those who are lucky enough to have them... On this side of the Atlantic we are kept busy with the disturbing crisis, the disturbing weather and the disturbing vandalism... Enough for a typical silly season!! ;)
Thanks for being kind enough to keep this blog alive!!
Olivier,
Cloudia,
It’s a bit risky to dream of it; full of «vendettas»... ;) But the some of the sights are awesome...
Susu,
That sea was rather violent that day; we couldn’t make it to the fantastic beaches on the Agriates Desert. Loto and Saleccia... And I wouldn’t be too comfortable living on those houses... ;)
M.Kate,
My great pleasure to make you sofa travelling...
Joanna,
Great that you liked the polyphony! I think it was better alive than in the recording...
Alice,
Fortunately, they are built above sea... ;)
P.N.,
They aren’t: that’s the problem... like in Venice...
Keats,
So, when will you be travelling to Europe again?
Part Two:
Regina,
Glad that you enjoyed!!
Star,
Great Lonely planet!! The problem is that they only talk about it; they don’t show... ;)
Ash,
Thanks!!
Amit,
Thanks for your visit and first time comment here. Look forward to reading you more often...
Ron,
You’re most probably right: it says it all...
Leo,
Lucky to be at the right place on the right time!! Better that in the wrong place in the wrong time... ;)
Lakshmi,
My pleasure!! Hope you’re cooling down a bit with all that work... But like I’ve been saying, someone has to do it when all the others go on vacation... ;))
Peter (Petrolin50),
Thanks for your visit and first time comment here. Look forward to reading you more often...
My pleasure! I’m truly glad you like it!!
G@tto,
Lynn,
OK, I’ll have my week end of August, early September! My one week... ;))
That clouded sky on the beach wasn’t so interesting... ;)
Part Three:
Lady,
Hope you’ll recover soon!
Paul,
I wouldn’t be comfortable living there in such days... ;))
Magic,
Indeed!!
Lyliane,
xoxo
Eye,
It’s an amazing little town, with lots to see and to enjoy!!
Daniel,
Merci!!
Joyce,
Thanks!!
Rajesh,
Great, but a bit threatening when the sea is rough...
Paz,
Corsican polyphony is absolutely fantastic!!
Pietro,
The exhibitions at the citadel were interesting; Anne-Marie Rocca Serra in particular...
Part Four and final, for the time being!!
Yvonne,
Who doesn’t? ;))
Leena,
Great to read you back here!! Petra will be on my list for the first opportunity; there are maybe two or three spots ahead, but that one will come shortly!!
No, my daughter finished her management studies and she’s back in Portugal!!
Ted,
Maybe it’s because I was born in an island that this coastal and sea attraction is so intense... ;)
I wouldn’t like to live there is days of rough sea... ;)
Babli,
Thanks! My pleasure to drive you on the virtual tour...
Ola,
I wouldn’t say stormy here; but we had at least two days with some showers, which is entirely weird for an August in Lisbon... ;)
Lucie
Pat,
That concert in the Nebbio Cathedral was a treat! Much better than what I could find in YouTube... ;)
Diane,
How I understand you... ;)
Stella,
OK! But when you start planning, it makes a two month holidays, at least... ;)
I’ll take my week at the end of the month... ;)
Friend,
The fort would have been ok; the problem is that the sea is hitting the houses... ;)
Constance,
They are singing in Corsican (corsu or lingua corsa), a Romance language spoken and written on the islands of Corsica and northern Sardinia...
Juka,
Thanks!!
What a hoot! I would have loved to hear the priests play those guitars.
Joyce M
Joyce,
No priests, just singers... playing with their voices... ;)
Corsica is so beautiful! I've enjoyed also the video "terra nostra".
Thank you so much for taking me to Corsica :-))
Susanne
Sue,
My pleasure!! Great to have you back here!!
