Hi Everybody! To finish the tour around Cape Corse, there is a visit to Erbalunga and to the second city in Corsica: Bastia! Hope you enjoy this tour also... The least I travel the more pictures I take: so there is a lot of Corsica to show this summer...
Enjoy and have a great weekend!!

Tes photos, belles et pour la plupart paisibles, montrent le charme d'un pays pourtant bouillonnant!

Very beautiful town. People staying near the sea must have the best and freshest seafood all year round. :)

I love the washed out colors of most churches.

Imagine arriving in your own yacht into Bastia - this is a pretty area to anchor a boat!

I didn't know that Bastia looks so nice. That port looks like it belongs to Monaco.

Great presentation of the place.

WoW!
Nice place to visit. Now that we have all these floods I keep an eye out on places like Venice where 80% of the population have already moved.

But here in Corsica the houses also go right down to the edge of the sea.So I wonder if they have any huge waves come into shore during the year? Amazing.

The last photo looks like a painting, the sunlight is superb. I love the way the buildings in the first photos look like they have been piled up on top of one another, like a child playing with blocks.

What a beautiful spot, Gil.
I especially like your panoramic shot of the port.
The last shot, too, is a stunner!

Corsica has beautiful ports, Gil. I enjoyed seeing all the details of the St. John the Baptist Church. The last photo is my favorite -- it has such beautiful light!

Oh my! It's 100 degrees here today with a very high humidity and these gorgeous pictures of the blue and white scenery had a very cooling effect Gil. Wonderful!

What a gorgeous place. I especially like the last one, the houses in the sun against the hill. My parents went there and we learned at school that napoleon came from corsica

Hi Everybody! This summer has been definitely a bit weird: working all time during the week and getting some lousy weather on weekends... Well, at least it gives you time to reply to the comments... ;)
Thanks for dropping a line, in particular when most of everyone else are just sleeping on the beach... ;)

Siddhartha,
My pleasure to read you back here!!

Thérèse,
C’est vrai que ça bouillonne... En effet, le lendemain de mon passage à Sartène il y a eu une «vendetta»: un ou deux morts à 11h00 du matin, au marché, devant tout le monde… Et il y a encore le reste… ;)

Alice,
It depends... of the people and of the seas... ;)

Eye,
Old and amazing!!

Georgianna,
You know, it’s not such a small world! ;)

Susu,
Oletta is superb!
No heat wave here: cloudy skies, no chance to go to the beach... ;-(

Ron,
Thanks!!

Joyce,
The places also help... ;)

Friend,
It took some time to manage to take that one... ;)

P.N.Subramanian,
I wouldn’t rely on that first evidence friendship... A bit of a closed society...

Part Two:

Peter,
That’s what happened: I saved one thousand six hundred twenty (1620) photos of Corsica... ;)

Mariposa,
Everything there was caught... ;)

Ash,
Thanks! I’m glad you liked it...

Nomadic,
Imagination is free; yachts cost a lot of money... ;) And a friend who owned a yacht told me: there are only two happy days in the life of a yacht owner: the day he buys it and the day he sells it... ;)

Juka,
It could be, indeed... But in Bastia there aren’t so many tax avoiders, to be politically correct... ;)

Indrani,
Thanks! Coming from an expert, it’s definitely a compliment!!

M. Kate,
Great to see you back!! You were lucky to go to the beach; I’m seeing those plans for today a bit in danger, as the sun struggles to beat the clouds... ;)

Lady,
Those houses in St. Florent are indeed too close to the sea... And though it is a bay, it’s a wide open bay... Anyhow, the day I took the pictures the boats could not dock at the beach, but could dock at St. Florent...

Cloudia,
Aloha!!

Diane,
I also like that one! Taken around 7h30 p.m., immediately before I dropped my cell phone in the rented car and took ages to find it... ;))

Trotter said...

Part Three:

Paul,
Thanks. There was a nice view from the castle in Bastia...

Pat,
On the right place at the right time...

Magic,
My pleasure!!

Pietro,
Actually, those buildings in Erbalunga were just asking for the picture to be taken... ;)

Lawstude,
Not a too difficult task...

Rajesh,
Thanks!!

Lynn,
100º? We’ll be probably with some 75º here and the clouds are threatening... ;) Too cool for the beach... ;)

Constance,
Amazing how you noticed that woman walking on the back of the church... ;)

Yvonne,
Well caught: the rustic feel...

Paz,
Thanks!! My treat your comments!

Lyliane,
Que tu as de la chance!!

Trotter said...

Part Four and final, for the time beeing...

Ola,
Crowded, but nothing compared with Monaco or Porto Cervo… ;)

Joseph,
My pleasure!!

Joo,
Well, the sun seems to be winning its fight with the clouds here, so maybe I have the chance to get to the beach… ;)

Leo,
Framing; a terrible technique… ;)

Star,
Better than looking outside the window!

Marja,
Lucky parents you have...

Babli,
Oletta makes the plenum... ;)

Mariposa,
Great to have you back on this post!!

Regina,
My pleasure!!
