Hi Folks! Calvi is a beautiful town in Corsica, with some wonderful bars and restaurants by the marina, where you can enjoy some gorgeous ice-creams and cool drinks... So, after a tour of the villages of Balagne, a must is a stop at the city that also claims Columbus as its citizen... Like many others... ;) And the arrival to St. Florent was greeted with a gorgeous sunset!! Have a great week!!
Calvi looks like a very beautiful place to relax, Gil. So much blue there...sky, water, mountains! The pink sunset photo really stood out.
Beautiful. Remembered the mountain city of Avila in Spain. Narrow cobble-stoned alleys, whispery avenues... simply magnificent.
Calvi seems to be a very beautiful and romantic place. All the pictures looks spectacular specially the last one I liked very much as it says that you are enjoying each and every moment of the trip.

You feed our souls. Grazie!
Aloha from Waikiki :)

Very lovely photos of your vaccation. Thanks for sharing these amazing photos with us.
If Columbus was born in Calvi is of course doubtful even if Corsica those days was Genovese. One thing is certain, Corsica is beautiful and it seems that you have appreciated it, considering the way you describe it! :-)
Marvellous photos!
Hi blogtrotter Gil,
You are absolutely right :) its indeed time to watch your blog again (I ve been busy with exibitions and I am still busy) . Ive had have hardly time to blog, but your travels are worth to follow, I ve never been in Corsica it looks awsome. A bit rocky-like and many stones, but the blue sea make it all so nice, its a green hilly surrounding, very various!!! I like the nature, Great to see your blog and travels again my friend, Enjoy your travels I love to follow them all.
Greetings from JoAnn/Holland
(soon travelling myself again too)
That's a great view you had of the marina. And the sunset you captured is so gorgeous - your dinner with your wife must have been made all the more memorable!
marvelous virtual tour! thank you!
Beautiful places, Gil !
... and the weather, no doubt, must have been less windy than today.
Hello Mr. and Mrs. T.
All photos wonderful, but especially the one of La Balangne!! Wow. Thanks for letting me come too.

Wow!!! Incredible, Gil. Another place to add to the list. I had no idea there were such mountains there!
Look at that sky, so beautiful!
Have a relaxing weekend and a good week ahead!
Hello Gil! All fantastic views as always, nice collages too! So nice the colors of the sea, St. John Baptist and the Oratorio of St. Anthony", and so appetizing the dish at the Restaurant La Rascasse
:-)
Happy Sunday!
Wonderful shots of the place. Very scenic and architecture is beautiful.
Oh such wonderful shots taken in Clavi.

The citadel is massive.
Calvi looks like a lovely town, but your photo of the mountains is the most beautiful and inviting.
As always Gil, exquisite scenery and photos and a wish to see it all in person :)
You certainly take us to so many voyages Trotter.
Seeing such beautiful sights that make you think the world really is a stage and travelling you can also be any one you want to be.:)
More glorious islands and mountians and white beaches. What a life!
What, no factories?
I like the citadel. The water looks inviting. Looking at the food makes me hungry. ;-)
Goodness...these are beautiful pictures! Looks like a fine relaxing place indeed....that sunset is amazing!!!:)
Absolutely wonderful! Thanks so much for sharing....... its marvelous that you showcase some scenic locations across the world, most of which are truly breathtaking, yet so unheard of!
Calvi looks like a fantastic town to visit. Great shots!
Amazing , loved all the pictures .
Hello,
Lovely photos of a beautiful place. I enjoyed them very much. Best wishes,
Joseph
Looks like a wonderful place. I'm sure the little general liked it when he was living there.
I love the shots of the sea from the Citadel, Gil.
Those boats!
I'd love to visit there someday :)
Wow!!! These photos are exquisite!!! I would definitely want to visit Corsica in the future. It looks amazing.
Salut Gil ! Quel paradis !
Wow love the place!
Oh my, what an amazing post. This place looks wonderful. Keep them coming.
Hi Everybody! Every time we have some time free, the follow-up will be terrible: lots of stuff to deal with and no chance to surf the Blogosphere... ;) Anyhow, thanks for keeping this blog alive with your comments... I’ll keep trying to reply, though I believe that very few of you look at the answers... Well at least Peter, Ted, Lynn and a few others are following, so here we go... ;)
Pat,
Sky , water and mountains that’s what you have, in huge portions I must say, in Corsica... ;)
Olivier,
Eye,
It has some similarities with Avila, but the immense difference that the sea makes… ;)
Hélène,
Merci!! ;)
Babli,
Beautiful it is; romantic it depends... ;)
Mariposa,
Dinner pictures are always interesting... ;)
Susu,
Mountains and Sea: everything there...
Star,
Entering the Old Town Calvi: a thrill...
Joo,
You must go there but you’re travelling somewhere... ;)
Barbie,
Thanks for your visit and first time comment here! Look forward to reading you often at Blogtrotter Two...
Paer Two:
Cloudia,
My pleasure!!
Alice,
Last year’s vacation... Not much time, but lots of pictures... ;)
Peter,
It was a pleasant surprise, though a cousin of mine who had been there twice before us couldn’t stop praising it...
Ash,
Indeed!!
JoAnn,
Great to see you back!!
Hope you have a great travelling holiday this year also...
Nomadic,
Those dinners are always great... ;)
Magic,
My pleasure!!
G@tto,

Constance,
The villages are fabulous! My favourite is Sant’Antonino...
Georgianna,
That’s a great addition... ;)
Part Three:
Blogitse,
It was great all the time except the windy day who prevented us from travelling to the beaches of Loto and Saleccia, which are only accessible by sea…
Pietro,
Thanks! You’re always too kind!!
Rajesh,
Glad that you enjoyed!
Joyce,
Calvi is truly photogenic... ;)
Dina,
I think that the most impressive in Corsica are actually the mountains...
Lynn,
Glad to see that you liked it...

Travelling always makes a change to you and to what you are, even if you don’t notice it right away...

Joseph,

Bill,
He had some troubles around the corner and the Corsicans were a bit divided on his role there... ;)
Paul,
That sea had a gorgeous colour!!
Emmm,
Time to start packing...
Lucie,
