Hi Everybody! This will be the last post on Amsterdam 2010. And after the new districts and the traditional canals, we’ll be just wandering in the streets with all those bikes, we’ll see the market, some parks, the Mayor’s House, and we’ll even have a glimpse of The Hague... Ah, and we’ll enjoy rijsttafel... That’s what professional trips bring to you... ;)
Enjoy, have a great Sunday and a fabulous week ahead!!
Thanks for the trip around Holland. The Dutch sure know how to save on petrol and carbon output by using bikes. Love the buildings and parks, the art too.
Nice trip indeed!
Very beautiful photos of Holland. Very clean and beautiful place.
Thanks for a terrific tour of Amsterdam! Your photos are superb as always! Have a great week!
Sylvia

yes, that was a nice trip, thanks!
Sunny and warm greetings from Helsinki!
And good-bye to bicycles and canals and pretty chandeliers and church spires!
Thank you Trotter for taking us along for the ride - I have enjoyed the glimpses into life in another world.
Amsterdam looks lovely :)
Very nice post, I really enjoyed Amsterdam. The Anne Frank house was amazing, hard to imagine all the folks living upstairs.
What would Amsterdam be without a picture of cyclists? Great, great shot.
Holland is so pretty! I would ove to visit there one day. I love that they have so many bikes. London is becoming more bike-friendly too.

I miss your photos of Holland! It's been a delight to see more about how one of my friends lives through your eyes. Thank you. It always a feast for the eyes and the imagination over here!
Happy weekend to you both!

Gorgeous post, so much to feast on. Loved the opening photo and I distinctly remember the bike lanes. And Anne Frank's pad.
This post captured the "spirit" of Amsterdam. Where's the "red light"? LOL
I love the shots in this whole series, Gil. The photos make Amsterdam a place I would really have to go to if I had the chance. I especially love all of the canal and barge shots.
Have a good weekend yourself!
Very nice shots.
I was listening to Hollands problem with the rising ocean vs below sea level living. They have a wonderful way of dealing with the problem.
I've enjoyed seeing so much of Amsterdamn in your posts, Gil! It looks like a wonderful place to visit. I'd definitely want to visit the Anne Frank house and see the Hague.
Hello Gil! Thanks for sharing these very nice photos of Amsterdam! How beautiful the churches, the Mayor's House, the parks and all the views of the city, I enjoy them a lot!
Have a great Sunday :-)
Great pictures of Amsterdam! I've been there twice but I see more from your pics! Thanks for sharing!
beautifully captured!
It is especially interesting to see all those churches together. Thanks for the stroll.
P.S. Great shot of commuters!
Wonderful captures! Such beautiful place!
Have a great week ahead.
Regards.
A great tour of Amsterdam!
Loved wandering the streets Gil and especially loved the bike photo....very intriguing. ~~ Lynn
P.S. Did you know that everytime I click on your "comment" form I get some sort of gaming pop up. Don't know what that's all about. :)
Hello,
Amsterdam is a lovely place and you have captured the beauty of the place with amazing skill.
It was a wonderful trip for an armchair traveler like me.
Best wishes,
Joseph
Beautiful place with wonderful architecture all around.
It's a great city and your photos make me feel like going there again:)
I can see that you approached the "hotter" areas of Amsterdam, but did not quite enter (or show it) :-) You are right, Amsterdam has so much more!
Un peu de fraicheur dans ce monde qui ne sait plus où il va.
Never been there but would like to visit Holland very much. Thanks for your wonderful travel posts.

Hi Gil, am finally here after being M.I.A for almost 4 weeks. Thank you for your visits to my page. I've enjoyed all your Amsterdam's photos. They are gorgeous!! So far I only got Dutch fridge magnets from acquaintance who are lucky enough to visit Holland ^_^ Have a good week ahead.
Thanks - brought back many fond memories of really good times in Amsterdam, I lived there for a year, 20 yrs back, studying floristry. The people, the food, the canal and the whole relaxed atmosphere ....must go back! Thanks so for sharing.

Wonderful, as always, Gil. I think there are more great photos of Amsterdam here than I've ever seen all in one place. Thank you!
Great tour!
Enjoyed the pics.
Looks like you had an amazing time on your trip!
Wow! So much to comment on here. Love the 1st photo with the bikes and everyone going to work. A great way to stay fit.
The buildings are great as usual and what a building with all the glass, wow!
Love the ghost photo also.
Hi Everybody! Things are getting weird on this side of the Atlantic... The only good news is what F.C.Porto did this year... ;)
Anyhow, let’s get back to business and thanks for keeping this blog alive!!!
Dianne,
Using bikes may also be a nightmare.... for pedestrians in Holland; the bikers think they have all for them and sometimes simply don’t care with people on foot... ;)
Thérèse,
Thanks!
Alice,
Clean, it surely is... Except in some places, but that’s everywhere like that, except in places that are always dirty... ;)
Sylvia,
My pleasure!!
Susu,
And I’m truly happy you liked it...
Cloudia,
You’re always welcome!!
Heph,
Thanks for your visit and first time comment at Blogtrotter Two.! Look forward to reading you here often...
Blogitse,
Great there is some sun over there; we have a grey day here... This World is getting crazy... ;)
Dianne,
My pleasure!! And thanks for your support to this blogosphere adventure!! With a world which is far from being small, there is a lot to show... ;)
Mariposa,
And it actually is!!
Ron,
You know it!! Thanks for the support. I’m truly grateful: you’re the only one who didn’t miss any of my last 145 posts both on Blogtrotter and Blogtrotter Two!! Thanks!!
Part Two:
Emm,
Come on it’s just across the Channel and the train takes you there as fast as you may think. Unfortunately Keukenhof time is already over, so you have to wait for next year... ;)
Constance,
My great pleasure to learn that you love these posts!! And thanks for the continuous support!!
Eye,
The visit to the red light was as discreet as it should be: there a small picture at the bottom left of the «Rijsttafel and After» collage... ;) It was mixed with the orange festival for the football European Championship where Holland reached the final to lose against Spain!!
Lucie,
Je n’y suis retourné (pas encore) mais ça arrivera surement... ;)
L’étranger voleur? La Peste retourne en Europe… ;)
Paul,
Start packing!!! ;)
Lady,
Sometimes it’s not that easy!! Some years ago there were terrible floods in the Netherlands...
Pat,
You also should start packing... ;)
Pietro,
The Mayor’s House isn’t open to the public, I believe... But you were lucky to get inside, invited for a reception... ;))
Yvonne,
I understand you were too busy there, so that’s why you are rediscovering it now with these pictures... ;))
Magic,
Thanks!!
Part Three:
Ted,
Thanks! Didn’t you like the Donkey Man in the Art gallery window? It looked amazing... ;)
Regina,
Thanks!! Love to see you here!!
Juka,
My pleasure!
Lynn,
They go everywhere with the bikes... Sometimes is even more dangerous than the cars... ;)
I don’t know what happens with Blogger! It doesn’t happen to me, but sometimes I simply can’t post with the Internet Explorer and have to use Mozilla Firefox...
A true disaster... ;)
Joseph,
Great to make you a ever more learned armchair traveller... ;)
Rajesh,
Beautiful indeed!!
Joo,
Glad that you enjoyed!!
Peter,
Mixed with football flags, there is a small picture at the bottom left of the collage «Rijsttafel and After».... ;)
