LAND FROM SEA - CAPE CACCIA

SARDINIA - SEPTEMBER 2009

"ALGHERO FROM SEA"

"ON THE WAY TO CAPE CACCIA"

"CAPE CACCIA - Cape Caccia is a limestone promontory, overlooking the bay of Alghero. Cape Caccia owes its name to the pigeon shoots that the notables of the nineteenth century use to make there..."

"FACING IT - There is a meteorological station in Capo Caccia, and a lighthouse, which thanks to its position - 186 meters above sea level - is one of the most visible from a distance, about 34 miles"

"THE EARTH ENDS..."

"ON THE OTHER SIDE"

"CAPE & CAVE - The Cape is also known for its many sea caves at the bottom of the hill that was once frequented by many families of monk seals, now completely disappeared after the hunt by fishermen"

"ISOLA FORADADA"

"HUMAN FIGURE" - In stone..."

"NEPTUNE CAVE - The most famous cave, named after the god of the seas, is that of Neptune"

"CLOSE TO THE ENTRANCE..."

Hi Everybody! Three posts inland in a row are probably too much for this blog; so a bit of sea may be more adequate, even for the season... The sea around Capo Caccia is compulsory if you don’t want to use the 656 steps to get to Neptune’s Cave... ;). And, furthermore, with this heat outside, at least here in Lisbon, it looks much better to enjoy the sea breeze than the inland warmth... ;). Take a break, enjoy the sun and the waves and comment on this blog... What else? A Nespresso? ;))
Have a great weekend!!

Oh, those stones and cliffs are magnificent! The surfaces of stones are inspirational, I saw faces and all kind of imaginative figures!

It's going to be a hot weekend in Finland, great! Let's enjoy summer, and have a nice weekend, Gil!

Bonjour Gil !
"The Dock Of The Bay " est le titre de mon prochain message
:)

Wondering what it would be like to live up the hill! The white house there should be a great spot overlooking the seas and Capo Caccia as well.

How sad that the seals have disappeared! I wonder what it would be like to live in that lighthouse with such a commanding view of the water! Beautiful but scary during a storm I bet. :) Your last photo is so refreshing looking on a hot day like we are having today Gil. I enjoyed my visit today. ~ Lynn

I really love the shot of the pool in Neptune's Cave - amazing color or the sea and the rocks on the bottom!

Oh I love caves and rocks and the sea
Gorgeous pictures I especially the the last one with the deep blue colour. Here you see that colour where we have springs and the water comes straight out of the ground and is therefore very clear.

The other day I had the most marvelous and vivid dream which involved turquoise water. I know that it is because of you that the water was in the background. Thank you!!

You find the most dramatic places to visit and share!
The sight of your water and cave are very welcome here in land-locked, super-hot Jerusalem right now.

Hi Folks! Well, I found that Blogger is treating some of you as spammers, so that’s why I saw your comments on my mail box but couldn’t see them on the blog comment box... Hope it’s fixed now, after the notification that Joy and Rajesh are no spammers... ;)
I realized that almost everybody in the blogosphere has gone in vacation and that I’m still here... So, my deep appreciation goes to all of you who, notwithstanding the holiday season, are kind enough to drop a line here and keep this blog alive... My week off is approaching and I’m getting a funny feeling: excited with the planning of a holiday but at a certain point depressed to think that there will be only some days off after a full year and before another one... Too much!!
Anyhow, let’s see what we have here!

Rakesh,
That one came out quite well indeed! Lucky to have caught it with the right colour and the fight light... ;)

Susu,
You can imagine whatever you wish in such a magical atmosphere... It’s magnificent!!

Juka,
It’s an all open sea that you may see from the top of the cliff, lighthouse included...

Cloudia,
Indeed!

Joo,
Large blue sea, that’s what you have there... ;)

Rhonda,
My pleasure!

Alice SG,
Don’t count on me to descend and then climb those 656 steps... Better take the boat and get straight to the point... ;))

P.N.Subramanian,
They are sculpted indeed; but by the waves and the wind... Nature has these high qualifications... ;))

Ron,
That’s an amazing rock...

Star,
Vacation by the sea is always a great option!!

Babli,
Thanks! Sometimes pictures come out nice, others not so much... ;))

Mariposa,
The last one comes first in the choice of visitors... ;))

M.Kate,
Vietnam is on my list; maybe one day I’ll make it... ;))

Keats,
Thanks!

Part Two:

Blogitse,
Just go to one of those bars and restaurants at the waterfront and, if the sea is too rough, dive into the pool... ;)
Comment settings changed; hope spammers will not attack too much... ;))

Tinsie,
Start packing!!

Lucie,

Eye,
A bit isolated, perhaps… ;))

Magic,
Blues are my favourites!!

Elvira,
Thanks for your visit and first time comment here!
Your Tuscany is magnificent!!

Lynn,
Anyhow, it’s sufficiently high not to be caught by the waves... ;))
That last one came out quite well...

Lady,
The cave is there... Following post!! ;)

Giulia,
Thanks for your visit and first time comment at Blogtrotter Two! No way to climb those 656 steps; my back would be definitely finished... ;))

Pietro,
Thanks! I’m glad that you enjoyed all that!!

Yvonne,
It’s truly beautiful!!

Stephanie,
Thanks for your visit and first time comment at Blogtrotter Two! I’m sure you will travel everywhere you wish...

Ted,
I think L’Avventura was filmed in Sicily, but not sure... Anyhow, Monica Vitti was great!!

Lu...a,
Thanks for your visit and first time comment at Blogtrotter Two!

Part Three:

Joy,
Silly that Blogger treated you as spammer... That last one came in perfectly!! I’m glad I caught those colours...

Rajesh,
I’m mglad that you liked! But had to notify Blogger that you’re not a spammer... Blogger idiosyncrasies... ;)

Regina,
I see that you’re too busy... No time for us at the blogosphere... ;))
Anyhow, thanks and enjoy what you’re doing and learning!!

Norman,
Sea breeze is what we need here now... ;)
I’m sad with what happened in Manila with that tourist bus...

Paul,
That one came out quite well!!

Marja,
You have so many beautiful things down there where you live... I would love to get there again one of these days...

Anna-Lys,
Wow! Welcome back!! Great to read you here again!!

Celine,
You don’t even need to start packing, as I believe you have always a bag prepared to rush... ;))

Constance,
Just make your dreams come true... ;)
xoxo

Olivier,
Tu as raison: impressionnant!!

Joseph,
Thanks! But I’m far from being a master in anything, including photography… ;). All credits go to the objects photographed...

Joyce,
Great to read you again!!

Emm,
I’m not sure that lighthouse would be a great home, after a long weekend there... ;))

Medam,
The rocks are awesome, indeed!!

Lakshmi,
But you’re almost always in vacation... ;))

Dina,
I can imagine how superhot it must be there, taking into account the heat we had here...
